We Bought an A-Frame

Welcome to 1976 - the year this A-frame in the North Fork of Long Island was built. The previous owner designed it while living in California and built it himself when he purchased the just-under-2-acre lot in the early 70s. This house is full of amazing details including Pine and Douglas Fir beam ceilings throughout, a secret balcony on the upper level and a deceptively large lower level that walks out to the back yard thanks to the slope of the site. At just under 3000sf with tons of character and charm, this is an absolute dream project.

There is something so incredible about the A-frame’s ability to seem expansive while retaining it’s warm cozy feeling. The tone for the house will be an update on the vintage a-frame getaway cottage balancing nods to the building’s 70s heritage with a modern take on finishes.

Stay tuned for updates along the way.
