Facade Inspo | Modern Off-Black Respite

The first thing anyone sees when visiting a home is the landscaping and facade. Its important that the vibe of the property is cohesive. While the facade - new windows, siding and roof - is likely the last project we’ll tackle, its important to have a direction from the get-go as it helps build the narrative for the interior. In my experience in retail design, we always start off with very different options and that’s what i’m doing here. I’ve found that seeing the drastically different directions often helps you to feel more confident in which direction you want to take the design.

There is something about a fresh coat of almost-black paint that automatically makes a home feel clean, modern and refined while still appearing laid back. It also hides little imperfections which makes it great for fixer-uppers. There are already quite a few black a-frames out there. I love the cool effortless look of this but am a bit hesitant that this may be more trendy than timeless.

Here’s the mood board i’ve edited down of relevant images that capture that casual modern respite vibe.
